4. Student funding opportunities#
Most students are funded through Research Assistantships. However, students are encouraged to seek out external funding opportunties.

4.1. Graduate Research#
4.1.1. USU#
Presidential Doctoral Research Fellowship by Office of Research @USU. More information on current and past awardees from CEE can be found here. Students will receive additional $10,000 stipend on top of their graduate student assistantship for four years.
USU Graduate Funding Opportunities include USUSA Graduate Enhancement Award (GEA) and Graduate Research and Creative Opportunities (GRCO) Grant
Climate Adaptation Science one-time payment, need to focus on climate related research.

Doyle W. Stephens Scholarship for GSL Research $2000. Must work on GSL related research
Air and Waste Management Association Great Basin Chapter Scholarship For students who work in the fields of air quality, waste management, environmental management/law, or sustainability.
4.1.3. National grants#
AGU Horton Hydrology Research Grant Highly competitive.
GSA Student Research Grant Award many receipents each year. Good to practice proposal writing skills.
DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program Limited to US citizens or LPRs
